About
Ismael is a seasoned Creative Director with over 15 years of experience in leading the development and delivery of large-scale retail and marketing initiatives that enhance the overall customer experience managing the lifecycle of store concepts, in international and domestic markets, specializing in Consumer Electronic Retailers and Luxury Brands.
He studied Architecture in Mexico City at prestigious Universidad Iberoamericana graduating class of 2003. Ismael started his own Studio since 2002 where he worked specializing in residential interior design and furniture design.
In 2006 he moved to Beijing China to join architecture firm Spoon Design, where he collaborated with Architect Eric Prigent mostly in high end luxury retail stores for Richemont group. He continued exploring furniture design taking advantage of the production opportunities China had to offer and further learning and exploring about the use and interaction with different materials.
Back in Mexico in 2008 he joined BestBuy leading all design efforts for the brand International expansion. At BestBuy he was responsible for localizing a US retail concept to the Mexican market and then further develop new store typologies to be able to have better penetration in market and improve the customer experience.
In 2013 he decides to join Apple Latinamerica in Miami, where he was responsible for the space planning and implementation of Apple’s channel programs across the region for all routes to market. (carriers, department stores, CE stores and monobrand stores)
Most recently Ismael relocated to the Bay Area to join Apple Worldwide (3D and Visual Merchandising team) as Associate Creative Director where he is helping develop and design a new set of iconic Apple branded programs for all channel environments.
